Tigran Tadevosyan
For an art dealer, to find a young person, like Tigran Tadevosyan, is a dream come true. He has a long life ahead of him. He is exceptionally gifted. He had a mentor as a young boy, his father, who is also a talented painter.
He studied specifically to become an artist. It is all he wants to be. He isn't confused or distracted. His art is what compels him. It is what he wants to do. Now, if I can do my job well, he will be able to paint and be supported by sharing his gift with the world.
We have had several personal conversations on Skype with the help of his friend, Lilia, a very charming young woman who is a good friend of Tigran, who describes herself, "like a big sister" to Tigran.
Tigran does have a sister of his own, a younger sister. His parents are teachers and as I said, his father has been a painter for many years. He seems to be quite stable to me, and interested in the culture and life that a single young man enjoys. You can see that females surround his life and permeate his work. This all seems very healthy and charming to me. I see the influence of Klimt and Picasso especially in his work. I mentioned Salvadore Dali to him and he commented that Dali has not been much of an influence to him.
Tigran lives in Armenia. I am slowly learning about the culture which has produced him. As I understand it, Armenia has been in peace time since the 90's but like much of the rest of the world, the Armenian's are struggling with a troubled economy. In other words, it is very tough on people now and they depend on money coming from other parts of the world because they don't have much production or industry as a country.
The religion of the area is Christianity, which our artist is also a follower of. I asked if the other predominate religion is Islam, and surprisingly they have very few Muslims in the country. You'll notice, in the photo behind the title of this blog, you'll find our young man engaged in prayer in a church, surrounded by women also in prayer. I love the way the church is represented with a circular motion, in which the idea of stained glass and arch shaped windows exist in the background.
I am currently writing his biography, with Lilia's help. Artists who have been an influence on Tigran are Picasso, Klimt, Egon Schiele, Fabian Monk, and H.R Giger. Although now, at only 24 years old, he is developing his own style.
Stay tuned for a huge success story for both of us! We will help each other, as his work will be seen in the best galleries in the world, with my humble support.
